We are not just an organisation — we are a story that began with courage. A group of friends and families, educated and ambitious, arrived in Sweden with open hearts only to be met with closed doors. Despite our skills and experience, the message was clear, if unspoken: we did not belong. We faced segregation, isolation, and a shortage of opportunity.

But we refused to stay silent. When opportunity didn’t knock, we built a door — and that door became DEST. What began as a small support group in Malmö has grown into a European movement, creating space for others to learn, connect, and lead. Our work empowers communities through digital skills, sustainability, innovation, and civic engagement — ensuring no one has to walk this path alone.
